Question Getting that PPP feeling

If I wanted to get my standard MY99 up to the equivalent of PPP without spending Prodrive type prices , would I be correct in thinking that I need a new back box , centre decat and an ecu remap ? Or is it just a back box and a remap ? Would this be a safe thing to do ? If not what makes the Prodrive set up that much safer ?
Any suggestions ?

Thanks for your help

Dave

1st suggestion would work & use Samco hosing for the intercooler.

It is made "safer" by the fact that it is a factory/IM authorised part and does not affect your subaru warranty. A proportion of the money spent actually goes into a fund to act as the warranty should it ever be needed.

However, my guess is that on an MY99 you'll be out of warranty or very close to it if you extended to 5 years.

Usual caveats about making modifications to engine may reduce longevity and reliability.

Get a "safe" map not one on the limits. Fit a KnockLink and a LambdaLink. Change the MAF if you haven't done so recently (& annually from now on) and all should be hunky dory

Alternatively, find a Prodrive ECU, then source the other bits from suppliers of your choice or FS.
