Default Lambda/02

Hi,

My car has just scrapped through the MOT on emmissions, the garage said that the Lambda would need to be replaced soon, I have read on other threads that the 02 sensor can also effect emmissions as well , so how do I know which part needs replacing ??? MY99

Lambda and 02 are the same thing. It lives in your downpipe (threaded in) next to the turbo, and has some wires coming from it.

Whats your MPG and is your exhaust sooty? Any idle probs?

Can also be MAF related.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply , I replaced my MAF about a month ago now which cured the hunting idle , although the idle is a bit lumpy still. MPG is not great it is less the BMW 325i i had last year which is a 2.5 6 cylinder.

I am pretty sure that my exhust is black just in side the end pipe but I though that was normal ??
