93WRX with 110MPH speedo, what is needed to convert properly?
Hello all
I have a MY93 WRX import as currently the speedo reads up to 110 MPH on outside and 180KMH in middle graph.
The odometer is still reading in KMH as is trip and has KMH below it.
Does this mean all they have done is put a new face on it with the outside reading in MPH, I take it it would of been 180KMH origionally?
Would it be possible to fit an early UK speedo & rev counter assy complete and just fit a 5/8 convertor to speedo cable?
I noticed on UK spec early dash, the speedo and rev counter look reversed to uk spec will this make a diffo to fitting??
My speedo is on left and rev counter on right.....
If the above wont work, could someone in the know point me in right direction.
Cheers
Rob

Yep - all they have done is fitted a cheap fix.
I had exactly the with mine. What I did was buy a KPH/MPH converter from Graham Goode Racing (cost £110 - Part No GGS534) and a new set of Lockwood dials (I went for White - Jap Spec 0-180mph from Demon Tweeks).
The box is simple to fit. Just above the gearbox the speedo cable has a connector. The box goes in-line at this connection.
This will also remove the 112mph speed restriction which is in place.
