Question Which Oil Filter???

I have just bought a Oil filter from a reputable company and they have given me a Oil Filter that is smaller than the original one.

It has a different part number but does fit on the thread of my car.

Old oil filter *****AA0024 Light blue in colour
New oil filter *****AA0080 Black in colour

Spoke to them today and they say it is the only filter they do for a impreza and will be ok.

Just a little worried before i put this on.

Any thoughts
Scott

If you are that worried, why don't you buy yourself a genuine one???

You can only be saving a couple of quid at the most!

I bought an oil filter from subaru dealer at the weekend

He said that they are slightly different than the old ones

A bit smaller and they also are black

But the price is still the same

£11

Yeah, I had this last month, paid the local scooby dealer a visit, didn't look at the filter until changing the oil the next day (sunday) pulled this "filter" out of the box said something like "**** me its the wrong one " rant rave
**** dealers etc etc, took alot of convincing both on here and at the dealer, but they don't look up to it do they ?

That is exactly what I thought.

The filter is now smaller than the heat exchange unit too. that is why i was worried that it would not do a good enough job.
