Unhappy metal on metal sound

from the front passenger side - think its the wheel but im not sure, its happens randomly at around 60mph, happens say every 3 min but its not related to when I press the breakes ( sounds as if its coming from this area)

It been one of those days - Im having problems with knock as well which has just come on ( hopefully they are not related)

I ve got a servive 90 miles down the road at tsl tommorow so fingers crossed i get there

any ideas on the metal on metal sound

days like this make me just want to get rid

Hi,

I'm no expert but generic advice would maybe suggest brake pads? That would be intermittent.

If its not that then I'd go for the wheel bearing being bust. I had this on my Vauxhall Astra once. Started intermittent like you descibed then did it all the time.

Is the handling effected? Does it pull to one side if you take your hands off the wheel briefly when you hear the noise?

Cheers

mmm, strange that it you can hear it a 60mph. What was wrong with the pads? Did you change them to fix the problem?
