Hi there,
Been doing some searching on the forum about where to take the feed to install a boost gauge in my MY02 STi. All the threads say take the feed from the pipe that leads to the dump valve.
However, the garage that fitted mine, cut one of the hoses that goes to the red block thingy![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Picture below.
Is this the correct location ?
Also, whilst fidling in the engine bay, I also noticed the pipe leading to the boost solenoid has been cut and an adaptor has been fitted. Now I remember that when I had my boost gauge first fitted it did not show the correct settings (nor a vacume) and the garage refitted it.
Could this be that they cut the wrong pipe and have now put this plug thingy in it to rejoin the cut ? If so, are the any downsides to this ?
Heres the picture.

Many thanks, and feedback welcomed.

The garage hasn't cut the pipe and rejoined it - that is how the car leaves the factory. My WRX is the same.
If you search on some scooby forums for the "3/16ths mod" you'll see pictures of other hoses exactly the same. I'm still a newbie myself but I do know that that hose that is joined by the black plastic "thingy" is normal.
Cheers
