Thumbs up I think i fixed my "piston slap"

ive always had a noisy engine while cold, this sounds slappy, ive read all the reads and such and was thinking that i had a dose of the PS

now it seamed to get worse in winter, sumtimes it was worse then others which i put down to temperatures, recently its become worse, although it might just have been angering me more then usual??

a few times i got in my car early in the morning and it hardley made any noise at all

anyway, today i was checking the oil and such and i rembered the test where you pull off the spark plug leads while running and see if it gets better or worse

i did all 4 leads, 1 at a time and i could still hear this noise, strange, anyway i had a bit of a squeeky alternator due to the last steam clean a while back so while it was running i gave theback of the pully wheel a squirt of bike chain lube, i also did the air con pump, and i spied the cam belt tensioner, rembering sum threads about a possible cam belt tensioner problem resulting in slappy noises, i had a listen, but couldnt really tell where the noise was coming from, i couldnt see the pullywheel slapping about or anything, so i gave it a squirt of bike lube (being carefull not to get any on the belt) and then went to the garage for sum petrol, i was amazed as i pulled of the drive to find the engine was as quiet as a mouse

no more noise

ive scince left it outside for a few hours tolet it cool down, i will start it back upwhen im sure its cold and report back.

its looking rather good tho
