Charge heat from engine
Hi all
After i went for a long drive earlier when i came back, the engine wasnt ticking over to great (was fine, just searching) so popped the bonnet and after doing that, it was ticking over fine.
Im not a mechanic, but i thought that had something to do with engine heat mixing with the cold air mix into the i/c or induction system.
Anyone have any ideas on how to get around this? I do have a side vent for cold air feed to induction but have the plate on it to stop the rain (will be off in the summer though)!

MAF?
The tick over "searching" you describe is more likely symptoms of MAF failure. Try ecu reset and see if any "check engine" light codes appear, as usually the ecu will not put an error up due to compensation of gradual failure.
Very much doubt it was due to heat build up under bonnet
