struggled to start
Hi, bought a scoob yesterday MY98 Terzo model. everything was fine withh it and I popped round my parents for a coffee (and show the car off ) only there for about 45 minutes and when I tried to restart the engine it must have turned over 5/6 times more than what it normally would before it started, sounded like it really struggled to get going, any ideas? thought it was strange and a little embarressing starting it infront of the parents too...lol
started no problems a couple fo times later in the evening and this morning no probs.
also when I put the key in the ignition I find it doesnt want to turn the barrel, any1 else find this on thiers????

Mine seems to do that at ramdom occasions too, though if its struggling to turn engine over then prolly the battery.
The key thing try a little bit of wd40 or somethin in the barrel/key slot, should free up the pins a bit, worked on last car.

You are following the scoob starting instructions of not touching the throttle AT ALL before it fires, aren't you?
If not, it floods and displays the same symptoms you've mentioned.

Only a little bit easier than finding needle in haystack trying to identify this sort of thing given the information we've got to go on. Doubt it's the battery if it's turning over nicely, so at least that's one thing to rule out.
Does it run perfectly once it's fired up, and do you see any tell-tale indicators on the dash (for example the oil pressure light being on) while it's turning over?
Have you tried reading the ECU's memory to see if there are any stored error codes? That might, if nothing else, give you a bit of a clue as to the cause.
