Default Advice on Air Filter's for MY01 Bugeye WRX

Can anybody give me any advice in buying an induction kit for Bugeye WRX?
I've heard that the MAF's on Bugeye's are quite weak and don't entertain air filters much.
I would really like an HKS one for mine but don't want to put one on, to find out that a month later, that I have to buy a new MAF!! What do people use and succed with?

Just replace the panel filter with an STi one (50 quid) as i got very good gains from one of these (you can buy them from www.scoobymania.co.uk )

PS or you can read my thread about STi panel filters, if its not on page 1 its going to be on page 2

I'm with Tony. I have run a basic ITG filter for more than 45K miles, but there have been reported incidents of MAF failures due to the oil content of some filters (personally, I think the problem has more to do with re-oiling when filters are cleaned).

Induction kits won't make a huge difference, so a good quality paper filter such as the genuine STI version would be fine (incidently, this is what I have on order from www.japanparts.com - approx £40 shipped (depending on exchange rate)).
