Exclamation Juddering At 4500RPM???????????

Hi Guys

Just went out for a thrash in my 95 WRX running just above 0.9BAR Boost, full exhaust and replacement panel filter, came round a corner, accelerated and the car felt almost like it was on the rev limiter at 4500 RPM. Can anybody help me at all? Is it the fuel cut?

Also it does make a slight dumping sound, i'm guessing from the recirculating d/v, but i'm sure it never used to. Could my car be overboosting, hence the above problem?

Any help would be much appreciated,

Regards

John

.........................P.S - Just been out again.........and found that the car boosts to 0.9 BAR, but peaks at 1.05 BAR, does this sound about right???

If it was fuel cut, you'd know about it. A sudden cut of power whilst accelerating hard, very scary indeed. And the boost levels you've indicated sound about right, so I wouldn't have thought it was overboost...

Cheers to the reply Judge, just been out again, felt like hitting a brick wall. The unfortunate passenger in the back said that the car peaked at 1.1 BAR, thus is this over the max boost before fuel cut? If it is, what do you think it could be? I rang TSL this morning and they suggested cleaning the boost solenoid? As they are booked till June 2nd!

Again.......any help would be great,

John

Fuel cut on mine (MY00) is about 1.19bar, but not sure of yours.

I'd be surprised if it was the wastegate solenoid. That normally creates unstable/erratic boost, but from what you've said, your boost levels are stable. But as I said, I don't know if they're what they should be for your MY. Wouldn't hurt to try though. Easy enough to do.
