Default Changing discs/pads

Wanting to change my discs and pads on the front of uk MY96. Now i've done this job on other motors several times, many moons ago but never on scoob.
So is anything differant that I need to know about? Any special tools required?
Any pointers gratefully accepted cause I can't afford to be stuck, cause going down to le mans early wed morning.

Cheers all
Ritchie.

As for spending your saving wisely, www.sapmotorparts.com for the discs (£35 + VAT each), and then somewhere like www.asperformance.com for some Mintex 1144's or similar low cost "warm road" pad.

Thanks for the reply mate, had it on the stands today and bugger me if those two(16mm) bolts we're not shifting! Think its a culmination of living on the coast of scotland and that they've been on there donkeys. Got my uncle round whose done this sort of thing a few times and he agreed it was best not to try more pressure than i was cause if they sheer i'm well shagged.
Trouble is i'm a bit concerned cause I need the car to take me to france early wednesday and as it is then it will, although a bit juddery(warped discs). However i'm tempted to try a garage but then if they sheer them - arrrgghh!

Can anyone shed any light on whether they are likely to sheer off? Know its a bit of a daft question.
Any comments appreciated.
Cheers
Ritchie

They are pretty thick bolts, very hard to sheer. Spray WD40 the day before then try whacking the spanner repeatedly with a hammer (make sure a good spanner with the nut fully in the round ended part- tech terms!??)

I did mine the other day and put 4-pots on.

good luck
