As above, anybody reversed one? Is it the same as Phase II classics?

It's a different manifold from the Phase 2 classics, but I guess you knew that already?

Presume it will still reverse, but you'll need a slightly longer pipe to get from an FMIC to the TB than you would on a late GC/GF.

 

I'm aware that Trout / Rannoch had an issue with his version 5 manifold when reversed, the throttle body caught on the bonnet Just wondering before I get to that point whether i need a spool piece making up to re-angle the throttle body entry down rather than up

 

One of those things that's difficult to imagine, but at a guess I'd say that there would be less of an issue with the new age manifold than there would be on the MY99/00 one.

The throttle body on the new age cars is a little further away from the bulkhead than it was (to make space for the bigger IC), so when you turn it round, the TB should be further away from the front of the car, and thus under a "higher" part of the bonnet.

WRC car manifold is what you want.

 

I see you what your saying but placing my inlet manifold on a flat surface as it would be in the car, (reversed) the angle out of the throttle body is pointing up. Guess I wont really know until this weekend when i can place it back on the engine reversed and see if the bonnet shuts

 

Yeah, if anything it probably points up a little more than an MY99/00 one would due to lining up with the slanty intercooler. If it's far enough back though you should still be able to get a relatively shallow angle silicone elbow on to get the pipework pointing back the right way.

 

All will be revealed soon whether it does or doesnt Will update this thread on the result.

 

bug eye will reverse no probs.. dunno about sti, should do tho..
