Rain coming in through bulkhead?
When it rains water comes in from bulkhead somewhere above the passenger footwell, have idea this might be to do with the fixings for the plastic scuttle at the bottom of the screen.
Seems to leak through the heater, which makes odd gurgling sounds!
Is definitely not a coolant leak, any ideas?

Directly above cold air intake for the heater box is a cunningly placed clip for the plastic scuttle panel. I cured it by removing the clip from the panel and using silicone to reseal it in.
I has cured the problem with the leak through the heater but I have another leak coming in from the bulk head behind the heater box. All the carpets are stripped out in a vain hope I'll be ableto spot it and cure it.....
No luck yet though, looks like this weekend will see the removal of the heater
Deep Joy
Hope it helps

Likeliest cause is the windscreen, especially if it's been replaced during the life of the car.
I once had a leak in the top of the screen, in the area of the passenger sun visor. The only visible water was in the passenger footwell! Have a good look/feel around the front of the headlining and see if you can find any moisture or staining. Also worth pulling the A-pillar liner out and looking inside the pillar itself for signs of condensation.
If you can't find anything obvious there, take the lower dashboard out and have a good peer up inside with a torch. Eventually (and maybe with the assistance of a hose) you will find the source of the leak.

No red herrring hear unfortunatley!! When I had the windscreen replaced on MY97 the clip postitioned over the cold air intake snapped and in the water came. Didn't notice until the winter, but it was definitely coming from that point.
Have delveloped another leak, but this time is the same as mentioned further up, the fuel pipe grommet had somehow parted company with the bulk head!!!
That was tricky to find, but finnaly cured to last night!!

Funky, any chance of a photo of the offending item?

leaky front
I've got a similar problem but on the drivers side. Car leaks even when stood. dried the car out and tried the hose on various points on the front of the car even pointed the hose down the pillar but couldn't find jack. Getting a bit tired of lying upside down with my head in the footwell whilst the car gets another dowsing from the hose anyone got any ideas? Would the broken heater clip cause a leak on the drivers side????

Try and aim the water in the direction of the bulk head seam around the drivers side suspension turret. I had a similar problem on the passenger side where the seam sealer had cracked and was letting in a small stream of water. As the posts above describe.
If this is the case It probably doesn't mean that the structure has been affected as that area is only spot welded (hence the seam sealer).
As I said before I'll try and post some photo's when I work out how to do it!!! lol
