Starting Problem!
Can anyone help me with an annoying problem I have with my MY95 WRX?
Sometimes the car just wont start, the cat warning light stays on (even though I have no cats) and the only way to start it is to bump start it! It is becoming a pain in the **** as I never know when it's going to do it from one minute 'til the next!
Thanks
Mike

Do you have the cat temperature sensor plugged into the plug it would have been when the sensor was in the exhaust with the cat?
Try plugging the sensor in if you have not got it plugged in already.
It is often cable tied up near the airfilter area..
If you don't have it then try www.hdcsubaru.com for a secondhand one.

Jonny has a point.. bit confused about the cat warning light though?
Assuming it only does it when hot then it is likely to be as Jonny says.
You could try cleaning it.. it is in the middle of the pulleys with a couple of wires ocming out and a 10 or 12mm bolt holding it in, cam sensor is the same to look at and is below the oil filler for a visual reference of what you are looking for.

good idea about cleaning it as they have a magnet in and do pick up a lot of crap.
its a 10mm bolt from memory, no need to disconnect the plug from the sensor as it will pull out when the bolt is removed.
if it won't come out give it a wiggle
