Unhappy Turbo sluggish

I have a MY96 STI RA and here's my prob.

I was joining a dual carriageway just of a roundabout when this MX5 pulled up right behind me pushing right up my ****, so I thought ok just alittle faster then, so I put my foot down within speed limits of course in 3rd gear rev's at about 3800rpm when the turbo kicked in but then it was sluggish and you could hear a low sounding whistle. So I went upto 5300rpm and changed gear but again no change it just felt like it was running on normal engine power which also felt sluggish, so i took it easy after that and drove home very carefully.

The car has no major mod's just a blitz ADV and a Ninja exhaust, also it has a knocklink which only lit up the first light when this happened.

Any idea guy's what could be causing this.

Cheers
Mat

Default Hose Off?

Check main intercooler hose hasnt come off / worked loose. Check also the jubile clips that hold it in place are tight.

Good Luck!

You don't have a boost gauge then...? Would be interested to know what boost it was developing at the point of the fault. As SFG says, it definitely sounds like a blown hose/leak somewhere...
