Default is there a simple way to ECU reset a MY00?

I want to do an ECU reset. Is there a way you can do it from the steering column under dash OBD2 connector or do you have to do it directly on the ECU? I need simple instructions as i'm a clueless monkey.

i dont want to do the disconnect battery thing because my alarm goes off if i do that. (Does anyone know how to bypass this also as disconnecting the battery is a fairly useful thing for me?!)

cheers

ECU Reset Instructions are here.

Some alarms have a proceedure to tell the alarm that you are about to disconnect the battery so it doesn't need to worry about it. My Clifford does, but it still often goes off when you reconnect the battery.

thanks for that link. I had already seen these instructions and cant figure out exactly what its telling me to do and where, i.e is it directly to the ECU or something under the dash. I can't see anything in my car that looks remotely like the diagram.

what do i have to do?

If you look above the pedals, in line with the steering column you'll see a pair of green connectors and a pair of black connectors, probably still taped together. These are the chaps you want - connect green to green and black to black as per instructions on the link above.
