Default AVC-R Duty% setup

hey all

im having problems trying to get my Wastegate? Duty % setup for each 500RPM

its set to 1.1bar boost and can go up to 1.3bar before engine cuts

its a 97UK Turbo

TSL 3" decat downpipe
Scoobysport center+ back box decat
MRT twin trumpet bov
HKS mushroom induction kit

anyone with a similar setup? and have a AVC-R?

problem im having is... its set to 1.1bar.. but it keeps overboosting a little when it reaches around 3.5K-4K revs then cuts back

ive tried setting the % low and high.. just cant seem to get it right!!

During the day its not so bad.... but at night time it REALLY cuts in early... is this due to the colder air?

dont half shift now tho! great peice of kit

hey m8ty
im having a avc-r fitted at the moment, hopefully get her back tomorow.
i have been advised to get a fuel cut defender fitted at the same time, this enabling me to run more boost before fuel cut. have you done that?
im told that if i fit that i can run as much boost(within reason) as i want, something like 20 psi.

hope that makes sense.

think im having a problem with mine!

mines boosting to 1.5bar when i have it set to 1.1Bar... and doesnt matter what the % Duty is set to... it still boosts to 1.5, then cuts!

i dont have a fuel cut defender... my ECU was played with by the original owner, allowing 1.2Bar happily... maybe a hose has come offunder the bonnet or something!

Check that the hosing from the turbo to the AVC-R solenoid, and the solenoid to the actuator is all intact and plumbed into the solenoid correctly.
The "COM" port on the solenoid should go to the turbo actuator
The "NO" port on the solenoid should go to the turbo compressor feed line.
The "NC" port is not used, and should be open to atmosphere.

Sounds like the wastegate is not opening or the AVCR is faulty.

Have you had the AVCR working correctly at all???

Cheers Fiestaboy!

yeah it was working for first week i had it installed then it started doing the problems above....

took it to Garage saying theres a problem.... popped the bonnet.... checked a pipe connected to the turbo... and it had split (we presume due to heat... so put some silicone pipe on it)

all working now! 1.1bar holding stable

running 1.1bar

running 58% Duty up to 5,000RPM then run 59%-60% for rest of Rev range

dont half shift!!
