Import Sti- Speed limited?
I've just bought an Imported WRX STi on an Lreg 1994 plate.
I've heard rumers that they have a speed limiter which can be removed, if you change the speedo from km/h to MPH is this true at all?
Sorry if this is a stupid question by the way!

Jap cars are limited to 180kmh (112mph) as standard. Depending on how your speedo has been converted to mph, this can be removed.
In my car, the converter simply means that the scale of the speedo remains the same, but the units are changed from kmh to mph i.e. what used to be 180kmh is now 180mph, therefore my car is now "restricted" to 180mph

Cheap converters from here

Look at engines, then electronics.
Also, a performance chip will often remove the limiter too, as well as tune for UK fuel.

doh
you get a cable converter from( i think) south eastern transmissions
lost there number sorry
it fits into the speado clock in between the cable to clock
it makes the std jap speado read in miles per hour you just fit a sticker over the kmh that says mph
this delimits in one go
£45 quid ish
did they make a sti on a L reg??? i thought only 100 or so
