Removing Inlet Manifold
Does anyone have any experience in removing the inlet manifold from a classic turbo? I need to remove it to fit a samco inlet pipe and would like to get it powder coated as the red paint is peeling off and looking rather tatty.
I am basiclly looking for any advice and info on potential pitfalls.

Remove the 3 pipes coming connecting on the right hand side, 1 from fuel filter, 1 thin one breather from tank, and one fuel return to tank. The 2 fuel ones will have pressured fuel in, so just be careful, but you just pull them off. If they wont come off easy, cut the fuel ones, as you can replace with some new pipe cheaply.
Disconnect 2 or 3 main wiring loom connectors taht are sat between battery and washer tank.
Unscrew the 8 bolts (4 either side) in the manifold.
Disconnect the water pipe feed to bottom of header tank (water will run out at this point if you have not drained your coolant)
Disconnect the 2 water pipes on underneath of throttle body.
Disconnect the sensor for Cam and for crank.
Slacken inlet pipe jubilee clip where it connects to turbo.
Then basically start to lift the inlet, taking care as some wires will still be connect, that are easier to see as you lift. eg
knock sensor (white connector under neath the throttle body)
Oil pressure (oem sensor connector inderneath alternator)
Water temp sensor (behind and below alternator)
Power streeing switch (Connector near oil pressure sensor)
Hope that helps Ross, best i can do off top of my head, becomes obvious as you lift inlet.
