Question P1 Boost pressure

Hi all

Does anyone know what boost pressure a standard P1 runs/ peaks at?

I have recently installed a SECS engine monitor and last night when it was cold I hit a peak of 1.2 bar (17.6 psi) this then tails off and holds at around 1.1 bar. The car is a standard P1 with an HKS cat back system.

Is this a safe level of boost to be hitting?

Cheers guys!!!!

1.2 bar is the maximum the p1 runs. it will run maximum boost if the fuel is at maximum ron. is it an import? if so its set to 100ron. if its uk its set to 97 superunleaded.

Wink Is the P1 an import? Doh!

P1's were only sold in the UK, so no it's not an import although granted it is basically an StiV engine and ecu witha little bit more knock sensitivity built in.

My P1 was remapped by Bob Rawle (Ecutek "3"), now hits 1.35 and is fine. Yours should be OK depending on standard or decatted etc. the latter needs at least octane booster and preferably a remap IMHO
