Default IHI vf34 (Bhp)

If fueling was upto the Job, as was cooling, incoming cold air, and the car had the min amount of backpressure available what bhp could a vf34 make using a 18.5psi spike and 18psi sustained to the redline. Strange question i know. I thought the vf34 was maxed out at 340bhp @ best. Am i right?.

Depends on the engine it is attached to, will do rather more on a VAG 1.8T probably (unless all the VAG tuners measure power in BS rather than PS ) and spool up better than a 2.0 Scooby as well.

Its going on a 1.8t 20valve with a high flow manifold. Looking at Scoobynet it seems as if the turbo (on subaru's) if making 320bhp at powerstation and 340bhp at PE. Which figure is the most reliable one. I have been told on the 1.8t 330bhp-345bhp running 18.5psi spike and sustaining 18psi to the redline 7500rpm. Supposedly making 270-280lbs ft roughly. I am looking at the Gt28rs and the Vf34 and just trying to make the best choice.

Get some dyno plots from the same day on the same dyno on the same type of car for both turbos, then compare the gains/losses of each. Both are likely to be between 300 and 350 BHP on most dynos I would think, being more precise than that is difficult because of all the variables involved.

dont know on 1.8ltr but on my 2.0ltr stock and around 19psi it does on DD dynos around 300wheel hp(not sure on flywheel tho?) and was trapping 114mph(drag strip) with 280whp

now should be trapping bit more
car has all other supporting mods

really think it does bit more than 340bhp

John, can a VF34/35 be added to a UK00 and TEK mapped without the need for larger injectors?

Off topic-ish

Yes, if you use an uprated fuel pump and adjust the fuel pressure you can get quite a lot out of 440s.

I thought 440cc would max (limit) out at about 400 bhp using a 4bar fpr (about 470cc using 4 bar, 440cc using 3 bar). Jabba say the Vf34 on a 1.8t 20v make 330-340bhp with a 18.5psi spike and sustained 18psi to the redline. About 300whp on a fwd car. Using this set up the qrt mile trap speed is 115mph i hear, so it sounds about right. Looking forward to having it fitted now.
