Lastnight, i returned my car to standard. UK MY98

My old ecu was fitted, along with standard td04, tmic, headers,up/downpipe, centre and rear box.
Original airbox now fitted, along with MAF reconnected (was running Gems before) Knock sensor re-connected.

But it's still lighting up the CEL straight away.

Car starts and idles fine.
Appears to drive fine aswell, spools up with no issues.

Anyone got any pointers please ?

Just done the ecu diagnostic...seems it's the Knock sensor..

Wonder if i've made a boo boo when connecting it back up.

Maybe it's just upset about being slow again

Think you're right !

Anyways...looked under the bonnet...and i can even see the Knock sensor...just a bolt into where it should be located...

Gems doesnt use the Knock sensor unfortunately, it uses this for the temp sensor IIRC. you will need to wire the Knock sensor back in mate

Yeah..thats the thing..i dont have the sensor at all.
I thought it had been done lastnight but i was wrong.
There's no sign of it.
Cant get hold of Steve Simpson either.

Well...got hold of Steve, seems i was being thick.

Had to move back the Air Temp sensor wire on the ecu plug, back into the Knock sensor hole in the plug.
Steve talked me through it, worked a treat.
