Fuel cut at 1bar on MY93. Why so low?
I fitted a Walbro pump yesterday and an Apexi induction kit and AVCR today. The cars also got a cat back Fujisubo system and a high flow Fujisubo cat mid section.
The car was running 0.8 ar and we went out tonight with a ide band to see if we could safely get 1.1bar.
However we found that at just 1 bar we were getting fuel cut. We have had to back the boost off to 0.93bar.
I thought th efuel cut was set at above 1.1bar, why am I getting cut lower than that. I know its cold tonight but even so

Ditching boost solanoid, low fuel cut/engine light.
I ditched the standard boost solanoid after fitting an AVCR but Im getting a 'check engine' wanring light and fuel cut at 0.5bar.
Ive had to plug it back in.
Is there anyway to get rid of the solanoid and not suffer check light and low fuel cut??

Doesn't the AVC-R come with it's own fast acting boost solenoid, and 3 bar MAP sensor? You need all thses bits fitted to use it properly.
Is the AVC-r mapped for boost in gears etc.?
Guess you fitted it yourself .. are all the connections OK.
Actually sounds from your comments above that it isn't an Apexi AVC-R unit but a simpler boost controller? The AVC-R has a neat display, 2 boost levels ( selectable ) and facility to map boost by 500 rpm increments through the gears and by gear.
0.5 bar boost would be the wastegauge actuator opening pressure if NO boost control in use, between 7 - 9 PSI as the wastegate then sees what ever pressure the turbo is putting out to the engine! If the engine struggles past 0.5 bar then it is likely it has gone into limp home mode as ECU found a problem.
No idea on the fuel cut, think it was about 1.15 bar on std cars but depends on ECU version, model, year, etc.

the fuel cut is at 1.05bar on that model, dosn't matter what boost controller you use it doesn't get rid of fuel cut.
you need a fuel cut defender{FCD) to do this, all the non electronic ones do is bleed air away from the map sensor so it doesnt see over 1.05 bar
the electronic ones just change the signal to the ecu so the ecu thinks its getting under 1.05 bar
as you are using a wide band you will be able to SAFELY set the boost higher than the fuel cut point using a FCD.
hope this helps

Vulnax,
Trust me, I know what an AVCR is
jonny,
1.05bar fuel cut sounds spot on, cheers Id already decided on a FCD, we have some in stock so Ill throw one on tommorrow. I dont really like fcds because of the way they work but as you say I can keep an eye on fueling so ill give it a go.
Itll do until the Power FC and 555 injectors land
