Lambdalink fitting help please

Ok finally getting round to fitting my lambda link have fitted the red wire to the positive the black to earth this leaves a green and white wire
The white one i take it is the earth so have put that to the ground on the ecu
Which leaves the green one this a ssume is the signal wire so needs to be wired onto the ecu i thought it was pin5 on block 136 but iam gettin no signal have warmed the car up
I ahve a green light the one on its on bottom left below the line of red orange and green leds
So why is it mnot workin have done something silly and simple yet agian
Oh its a MY 98 wagon with the 3 block connetors on the ECU 8S code
Your help is greatly appreciated
