SVA prep question
Hi,
I've got an STi going in for SVA, does any1 know of any problem areas which i might be able to avoid;
work completed includes: MPH Conversion, Rear Fog light fitment, radio band expander and a fuel neck restrictor.
Can any1 else suggest any other modifications which need to be made to pass the test first time round?
Thanks.

hi mate the only advice id give to you after putting 3 scoobys through sva, is that make sure everything on the car is standard now with the new procedures in place.if the cars got fancy things like turbotimer, boost gauge take these off for the sva. also make sue youve got a standard subaru steering wheel on the car if not then itl fail. also one of the most common places for failure is that the jap tyres dont have rating on then so cxheck these and they must be 16" alloys if bigger then fail. also if the cars got an induction kit dumpvale or afetermarket exhaust replace these with standards mate. hope that helps let us know how ya get on

Thanks for that info, the only thing i need to take off is the induction kit and exhaust (anyone want to swap temporarily?).
My alloys r 17" and the tyres have got speed rating on them, why do they have to be 16" ?
cheers

hi mate the problem is that any car now produced in 1 jan 1997 has to have an enhanced sva ie the one with the ,model report. so any car before 1997 has to have an sva now but all the features of the car have to be original. so if you take it in with 17" alloys itll fail because the car didnt come out of the factory with 17" do you understand this applies to everything mate. so you have to have the car back to standard and it its got any bodykit etc on it take that off aswell.
