Afternoon All,

Was wondering what effect the size of the hole on the end of a dawes MBC has? I.e what would happen if it were

b)1mm
c)1.5mm

Thanks

Andy

from memory (could be wrong)

i think it alters how the spool up occurs

i think that the bigger the hole, the more the dawse works like a plain old bleed valve?

When the set boost pressure is reached, the dawes opens and allows pressure through to the wastegate actuator,now-the hole bleeds the pressure out-if its too big,the pressure escapes too easily, causing the actuator to shut, which would cause boost spikes.i'm not too sure what happens if the hole is too small though.
If there wasnt any bleed hole, and the dawes was set to,lets say,1bar- once the dawes closes, there will be pressure stuck in the actuator side (1bar)which will hold the actuator open because the std actuator is rated at 0.5bar,which would then lead to an extremely laggy build up of boost!

Hope this makes sence

Gary
