About fuel controllers (S-AFC, S-AFR)
Hi:
My mates and I were discussing about the benefits of use a fuel controller as a Apexi S-AFC or HKS Super AFR which modify the MAF signal in order to make the ECU "see" less load than real load, making the engine runs leaner. But, when this is done, the Ignition also is altered, making the ECU adds more timing which it's programmed for that conditions.
At first sight, this should be dangerous because the engine running leaner and with more timing will be more prone to detonation, BUT... It seems Subaru use a closed loop ignition control, so that's my question for people who had "played" with the original maps of Subaru's:
Taking this in account, Will the ECU automatically modify the timing tom the maximum possible EVEN when you had "substracted" load from the engine by tweaking the MAF signal?
For me, the ECU will compensate for this, but I'd like to know the experts opinion
Thanks in advance
