Default flippin' window!!!

my passenger side window has always been a bit slow but over the past few weeks it's been getting worse, now it stops about an inch from the top and i have to pull it the rest of the way!

anybody got a clue on what i can do (cos it's doin' my head in)

any help would be appreciated, cheers in advance

is it slow when the door is open aswell,?

if not then the rubber seals on the body may require a bit of lubrication,I use mr sheen (dont use oil whatever you do).

However, the motor could be worn out and in need of replacing.
I do have a s/h nsf motor/mechanism if you find that you cant cure it.

I would use SILICON SPRAY myself... Most motor factors sell it, very slippery...

Could be brushes or Armature (getting techie now) worn in motor, Don't know if scooby ones are serviceable at all.... If the armature (where the brushs contact onto) is dirty/dull, give it a good clean with emery cloth, will go back to nice shiny brass finish... have done this a few times on electric window motors...

Another test you can do is get a car battery and disconnect two wires from motor from car loom, and stick the battery onto those two wires, reverse the wires to make it go in opposite direction!!! If it works perfectly then, you could have a dodgy contact somewhere...

hope this helps

Rob

If its a classic, its probably some of the seal inside the door have moved, come away and are obstructing the window.

Mine did it, one day this triangle of rubber appeared, fell out and it was fine thereafter.

Didn't leak either
