Question Boot release - twang?? !!!

The piggin boot release on my classic has decided it's not working any more.

The cable appears to be working and moving the mechanism, but when you shut the boot and try to release using the lever by the seat it just does'nt do anything.

The lock works fine with the key...although a couple of days ago it did have a funny five minutes and I had to wiggle the key about a fair bit before it opened.

Any ideas for a basic girly mechanic pls as I refuse to take it to a dealer to look at...

Ta

You have not accidently flipped the lock in the boot so the internal release disconnects

Fixed!!

Lock checked out - internal release was not flipped to cancel.

However, I pushed finger down into the lock catch and had a fiddle with the end of the cable where has the ball of metal to stop it coming out of the fixture and hey presto it's back in action!

Thanks richiewong 4 yr help.

Yep it's amazing what can be achieved with finger insertion and a little waggling.

Freed my sticky dump valve with a little waggle (then relobricated it)

Thought that copper slip was the best lube for this kind of job!
