Talking P1 sensor

Just a quick thanks for all the advice given when the idle on my P1 was all over the shop, it turned out to be the good old MAF sensor, fitted a new one today and its running as sweet as a nut again.Anyway could someboby please tell me what the small push-in sensor is that goes into the air intake pipe to the air box, as i have no pipe to fit it into anymore(induction kit fitted), and is its mounting position important?

Cheers
Rob.

that will be your air temp sender m8 ......a lot of ppl leave it completly off with know problems but.....it is there to do a job ....you can place a resistor over the 2 poles on the connector ...(thats wot the 10-20bhp power gains on ebay are)
i cant remember the right resistor value to use though ...doin this will send a perminant intake air temp ....if you no how to use a multimeter then hook it up to the sensor and measure resistance when you blow cold air over it ........that reading will tell you wot size resistor to fit.

alternatly you could fit your original sensor into your filter or mount.

Cheers for the advice Scott, it all makes sense now, i take it that the lower the inlet temp the higher the turbo boosts?
