you shouldnt worry, although I am guilty of monitoring it from time to time

you'll get used to normal values and be quite content knowing your cars all well and good.

Hi
I thought you could enable the "check engine light" to come on at a preset knock fiqure. Isnt the figure of upto 20 normal?

normal values change from car to car, what you are trying to do with the commander display is to get used to what are your own normal values.
for me its about 5-8(%) normal driving with a bit of 'ooning about.
gets as high as 12 if I do a full lift off at 6k rpm.
this is background noise and thanks to the dataloggit files of my car I know this to be true.
anything over about 20 for me is DET.

however, I knbow of a type-r that runs up to 20 as background noise.
its car dependant Im afraid.

Remember the max hold will catch a gearshift noise, anything rattling around the engine bay, rpm limiter , lift off noise and any misfire for whatever reason (even pops on overrun)
Probably best to watch it on the 15 second graph mode

Peanuts Andy - did you ever find what was causing your high count whilst pottering to work off boost in the mornings ?

seems to be a batch of optimax Andy.
I changed the MAF and it didnt do anything, ran the fuel down (100 miles a day helps) and filled again.
been great since.
one small thing Ive noticed is that before I used to get a hiss from releasing the fuel filler cap, no hiss recent two fill ups and slight sparkle (only up to about 8/9 out of 100).
going to check fuel hoses next week (on holidays)
cheers for looking out for me though, much appreciated
Andy
