The Prova ECU is Japanese derived so it will be mapped to run on 100RON fuel. The boost target is 16.42psig with lots of Ignition Advance and has an 8000rpm rev limit.
With the high boost target and mapped for 100RON fuel with an advanced ignition map the car will be very likely to Detonate

Cheers

If your mate fits this ECU he will have to run the car on 100RON fuel as it is an uprated map for the JDM market so will have to be run on Optimax plus Octane Booster to get anywhere near the 100RON requirement otherwise Detonation will be a problem resulting ultimately in engine failure. TBH it would be more beneficial to fit a scoobyecu to the standard ECU as it will be optimised for UK fuel (Optimax) with an increased boost target. Another option would be to fit a standalone ECU like an Apexi PFC or a Link etc and have it mapped for UK Fuel which would also give him more scope for future modifications

Cheers

The Prova is about the best of the Jap Bunch (the rest are all pretty poor), but it does need to run on Optimax to prevent Detonation due to the large amount of ignition advance applied.
