Roll cage behind front seats...

Roll cage behind front seats...
Have any of you guys fitted a Sparco type roll cage that fits just behind the front seats so that you can wrap your harnesses round it ? I have seen it on some track cars but just wondered if it was any good.

RB, thanks for the link, but what I really meant was the half hoop type roll bar that sit just behind the front seats. Have a look here and you will see what I mean www.rallysportdirect.com
It is in the Sti 04 / 05 section under interior.

I have a Safety Devices removable half cage with harness bars, 3 " harnesses and fire extinguishers, which takes about an hour to put in before each track day.
I will only use it when I'm wearing a helmet though, even though it's padded, as I have seen the result of a head meeting a roll bage on a road rally and it wasn't pretty. In addition, I was behind someone off here (Salsa King) when he dropped his scooby going down Craner Curves at Donington and the way that both the driver and the passenger disappeared from view when they hit the armco even a backwards glancing blow, due to the seats collapsing, was pretty eye opening.
Best solution of all would be a fixed back race seat (very light too), plus a padded cage and harnesses.
Safety devices removable rollcage wasn't cheap - i got it second hand from Mellow- but it's as good as you can get short of a pukka weld in jobbie. It's powder coated , bolts onto the rear strut tops and the lower rear seat belt mounts, and has side braces plus the diagonal "X" brace with the harness bars.
The hoop behind the seats stands on the internal sills and is braced by all the other braces mentioned above. So no permanent damage/holes for the interior. My car is a P1 so the cage even has captive bolts in the right places so that you can bolt it all together even with just the two doors.
It weighs a bit, but that is countered to some extent by taking out the back seat.
