VF24 Turbo and Intercooler Help
Hi guys would like some opinions on these items pls...
Vf24 Turbo from sti4 would it be better than the td04 i run ??
2001 Wrx i\c would it be better than the standard 98uk i\c ??
Will be getting apexi fc and map later but would like to get the turbo and i\c done first.
Ideally looking to be up at 300\300
All opinions appreciated

VF24 will be good for over 300bhp. Spool up will be very slightly slower than your 04, but the extra grunt will be worth it.
If 300bhp is your max, then you should be ok with the OEM top mount if the car is purely a road car. If you track it, then an improvement might be wise long term. A bigger scoop might help matters though.
A knocklink though, would be worthwhile if you haven't already.

Thanks for the info Rich
I have k\link and lambda just in case
Yes 300\300 would be ok to keep as a nice driveable road car but who knows
What sort of pressure can i run the vf24 at ?
Will the 2001 wrx i\c be better ?
Power fc later mapped to suit

With the OEM top mount, you should be able to run the VF to around 1.1bar, maybe 1.2 without problems (if you use octane booster too), but each car is different and what one car might be happy at, another one won't. So it depends. One of our customers runs a VF24 to 1.35 bar with a FMIC on a MY00 UK car which is well into the 300s bhp (with other supporting mods of course).
Just monitor your knock and lambda and see how you go. Best to get the fuelling checked using a wide band to be certain.
The 01 WRX cooler would probably be a bit better, but not drastically. An STi7/8 one would be a worthwhile mod instead, but at 300bhp, your OEM should do you.
