This may be a really schoolboy question but......
Car is going in for 10K service tomorow and I have a green cotton filter, does this need changing or do they have a longer lifespan???

i've just had a look at my cleaning filter booklet and it say's clean in a bowl with a few inch's of water allow to dry then lightly re-oil you can buy it in a spray form from the like's of halford's and demon tweek's

If your dealer isn't mod-friendly you may want to swap it back to the OE one for the day. They have (allegedly) been advised to log all modifications (however small) noticed during services for future reference in the event of a warranty claim.
Of course, if the service is being done at a non-franchised garage, no worries.
