Question Boost control solenoids??

Ok, all the APS stuff will get fitted to my car in May. (car is a 2.0L MY05 STi)

i have 1 problem though, with ECUTek, the car is not going to be able to hold high boost levels that I am going to run. i have been told that this is due to the OE boost control solenoid being unable to cope with the high boost levels. I also dont want to use an electronic boost controller because that will take away the ECU's ability to decrease boost when it senses knock/detonation.

I want to run the car as safely as possible, and with as high a boost as the ECU will allow without having detionation problems

Are there any good aftermarket boost control solenoids that can better deal with high boost levels??

Regards
G

Get a second hand 3 port off a classic, job done.

PS what kind of boost you running, as I have run 1.5-1.6 bar no problem on MY03 STi

The classic shapes in this country didnt have a 3-port solenoid, they had the same single port as the current shape.

1.4 Bar, but apparently the ECUTek cannot keep high boost due to the solenoid having to cope with higher boost levels. i had this very same problem in my old classic shape, had to fit an EBC after i fitted the VF23 because the OE solenoid just couldnt cope
