Default Aaaarrgghhhhhh!!!!!!

Hi everyone,

During a bit of routine maintenance on the vehicle (air filter change & a little tart up!!!) I have knackered my air flow sensor, MAF, MAS whatever its called!!!!!! Please don’t ask how, touchy subject!!!!

Where can I get one of these from and how much is it going to set me back?

Its for a 1998 ver 4 Type R, I can get numbers if they are required!

Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction..

Please.. please.. please…………..

Cheers

Any main dealer should be able to supply, approx £75 plus vat or there abouts

It's known as a MAF

I thought they were around that price second hand but I might be wrong. Just make sure you don't drive the car because it can lead to major damage

Surely its a hot wire type for that age, not the later thin film one that fails regularly? - plus its an import car so not something off the shelf of a local Subaru dealer.
Try Roger Clark Motorsport for new item and price then try GradeA breakers to see if they have a used one.

There's always one!!!!!!

I had it on the floor next to the car whilst i was giving the engine bay a clean, when my lovely mother drove into the drive and straight over it!!! Nice, but there's no worries about using it as previosly mentioned!!!!!

just phones subaru and they want £200inc VAT for one.

The part number is not the one above, its 22680 AA271.

Also, i didn't realise there are 2 parts to it?

Well mine has more than that now lol.....

Sounds like Roger Clark are quoting the right price for the correct unit, Glenbugie price is for the newer MAF part that doesn't fit your car.
Ring GradeA and tell them the colour of the label that has the part number (if you can find it amongst the bits )

I was unhappy to say the least, but i've calmed down a bit now. Whilst your all here i don't suppose anyone fancies filling a 6ft deep hole in the garden!!!!

Back on a serious note (well as serious as it gets on here!!), if i decide to get one from Glenburgie how will i know if its working correctly??
