power delivery on older td05 classics
It may just be my perception but I feel that my car is loads more powerful in the 5500-6500rpm range if I have been accelerating from 4000rpm (or under) in that gear. In other words, if I change gear quite early, and the car is at 4000rpm, I put my foot down and the car accelerates nicely and by 5500 it really pulls.
But if I am holding speed at say, 5000rpm, going around a corner, then suddenly accelerate, it just doesn't feel fast. That same 5500-6500 that felt so good before is not there. I checked the boost gauge and I still seem to be hitting my boost target, but the car just seems slower.
Any comments, similar experience?

That's what I would have thought, but the turbo is spooled up as I am full boost, it spools up between 5000 and 5500 but 5500 to 6500 seems slower that if I had started spooling at 4000.
It's probably just that it doesn't give the kick up the backside as the torque is lower there?

You are passing peak torque by c. 5000 rpm on a TD05H-16G

as you can also see from the graphs peak bhp is c. 6000 rpm
