Exclamation Boost controller cleaning

Check engine light is on, when you stick your foot down the car boosts, then you seem to loose a lot of power instantly (end up scraping your face off the windscreen!). If you take it steady you can achieve top speed no probs.
Do I need to clean my boost controller solenoid valve? I have heard that you can do it with brake cleaner by spraying it in one of the inlet lines. Also I need to know how to reset the ECU with the two plugs under the dash. Oh what does the two black connectors do under the dash?
Please help me

Car : 1996 WRX Jap.

2 green connecters together under dash (diagnostic mode)

turn on ignition NOT ENGINE! cooling fans start on and off loads of clicking nocies perfectly normal in diagnostic mode, spray plenty of brake cleaner into hoses and solonoid (take of hoses first ) just soak it good and then let it dry, turn off ignition put hoses back on disconnect 2 green under dash, take it for a spin

My96 cant remember if its a 3 port or 2 port solonoid

suggest try spray brake cleaner in anyway without diagnostic mode
may your solonoid is knackered could be oil in hoses and solonoid

do a ecu reset and see if you get any fail codes follow link below
