IMHO:
If you are ready for a bit of DIY, and you win it at sub £250 then that is a great buy.
The pic of the installation shows some 'interesting' items in the installation which would negate some of the benefits, but I personnally would go for it.
Areas of concern for YOU to consider:
Brackets: Clutch master cylinder: dump valve if you want to keep recirc type: fit/keep the turbo shield!
The TMIC as installed will rattle on the cross brace (so leave the brace off your Sti as I have.)
Good luck, looks a good deal to me.
Graham.

Ebay ad says it fits New Age, but as 911 has fitted an STi8 TMIC to his beast, may well be fine.
I have a STiV TMIC but with cut and shut ally inlet pipes, shortened outlet pipe and shortened throttle body, cut samco hoses, adaptor mounter brackets, blanked off dump valve ( kept recirc Forge one in OEM position ) etc. And some use of hammer to gain clearance...
So I was looking at this from top link and wondering for that price, I should be able to just bolt it into my Classic early wagon. Even cooler charge ..
Graham - any thoughts to that, mine is a mY94 wagon..

The Sti8 is an 'easy' fit IMHO and is pretty big.
The depth of the eb@y one is of concern, but I think all could be massaged into place, but would need some good DIY to get it all to clear. My only real concern would be will the bonnet trailing edge clear the Eb@y unit when installed. The Sti8 is a tight fit in this respect.
Making a block model is a good way to give a check, but it is only when you are really there so to speak, do you find the issues.
I would be careful of the depth.
As to fitting a new TMIC, I would just go for the '8' as it is now well documented how to do it, and it looks like to give a good performance for the $$
