Hi Guys, The GF was walking past the car the other day (JDM MY94 WRX) and she noticed something hanging down from the front, i looked under the front end and there was a bracket hanging loose from the loom running across the front of the car attached to the bracket was a sensor which looked just like the end of a bungee cord (like the hook of a coat hanger in heat shrink black plastic) with a little cap on the end. The bracket had obviously been removed by someone in the past and whoever did it couldn't remember where it was from so they had just taped it to the loom. Has anyone any ideas what it is?

My mechanic has reattached it to the car and it seems to have cured some previous running issues, though it could just be coincidence as i can't think what it could be that would make that much difference.

Any ideas?

Funnily enough that is all me and my mechanic could come up with but why would it have one? There is no outside temp gauge in the car so what else would it be used for?
