Default Brake pedal still spongy after service, fine after being pressed?

Had a MAJOR service done the other day which in included brake fluid chage but I still have a soft brake pedal.

It startes to bite near the bottom of the pedal movement but when released and pressed again its nice and firm? Its as though its filling the lines on the first push and braking on the second.

Its has only come on in the last two months cause usually I use heel/toe braking which is now proving difficult with the pedal being so soft on the first push.

The brake fluid has definatley been replaced cause I can see it is nice and new and clean but could it be that they have not bled the system correctly?

What else may be the root of my problem?

I used to have this problem when I first had my car...The front discs were heavily grooved. I presumed they were pushing the pads back clear of the disc a little, so brake pedal movement increased, but upon 2nd apllication immediately afterwards there was less pedal movement.

New Front discs and pads cured it. (pads were'nt worn, but changed them anyway).

Front discs have recently been machined true so its not that and the pads are also fairly new (last month) so its not that either.

I had this problem but only after a service, they simply had not bled them properly. Return the car saying that you have a soft pedal, if they can't improve it they should be able to tell you what's wrong.

Yea think I will try that cause I have to go back anyway to let them change the rear diff oil. They had the car for 9 hours and didnt even complete the service!
