Default Where is the Coolant Temp Sensor????

I have a MY95 WRX (import) and am trying to replace the engine coolant temperature sensor but cannot seem to locate it. Does anyone know where it is?
thanks

It is on the cross pipe under the inlet manifold behind the alternator..
there are two sensors in it, one for the ecu to read the coolant temp and one for the gauge.

Thanks JGM
Can you get to it without removing the inlet manifold.

It's possible to change the ECU temp sender without having to remove the manifold, just be prepared to have sore knuckles for a week!

It's easiest to get to the sender by removing some of the induction pipework. This is a view of the new sender once fitted.

A wider view, with the new sender sat on top of the intercooler.

Expect some coolant loss when removing the old sender, and insert the new one by feel. It's fiddly and awkward to get the new sender into the thread (I dropped it onto the engine block at one point and it took me 5 minutes to find it again! )

Good luck

i reccomend dropping some coolant out by undoing the bottom rad hose before starting, this will save thinking you have a leak as the excess coolant evaporates when you restart. Also add a little PTFE tape to the thread of the new sensor.

Little tip, leave the connector on until you have turned the sensor half a turn.. it makes it much easier to unclip in situ.
