Default Problem with heater, help needed.

Right bit of a long one this so be warned...........

Just been driving home and noticed i couldnt keep my screen clear from misting up, burninglike smell comming from the vents when i put the heater on hot and screen keeps misting up. Smoke or steam then started coming from under the dash so i stoppped and it eased off, managed to get home but unable to see through the misty screen, back window also starting to mist up and the heated rear window wont touch it.
Got home and have noticed that there is something dripping into the footwell from under the dash somewhere, one drip on the right hand corner of the passenger footwell and another drip on the left hand side of the drivers footwell.

Anyone got any ideas?????
If not ill go park up somewhere on monday and call the AA lol

Sounds like the heater matrix or one of the connecting hoses is leaking. I wouldnt drive it as running with no coolant will lead to major engine damage.Get the rac/aa to recover it to the garage.

cheers for that mate,

Just done a check now and if the heater matrix is the big black box under the glovebox with a fan like thing at either end then the sponge gaskets between these are soaking.
Checked coolant and filled it up so will wait til tomorrow now to get taken to the garage.
