I am fighting the same thing on my Sti v3.
Did you also remone/clean the valve disc fron the inlet manifold?
Valve is clamped into position between the large valve body and the inlet manifold casting.
Graham.

You'll find that many people on here recommend replacing the 99/00 MAF annually or at major service intervals.
Graham, I'm sure they're different valves the 99/00 is a coned rubber plunger type.

yep ICSV on STI3 and MY99/00 are very different.
Are you sure it's the ICSV? MAF sensor and Lambda failing can also result in lump idle and hunting of revs at tickover.
I had a problem with my car stalling when returning to idle revs turned out to be a combination of Maf and Lambda. (MY99 UK Turbo 2000)

The icsv not working ie plunger not going back and forward plus when turning ingtion on of it wont move back and forward.Noticed the problem when starting in the morning ie it would rev to more than 1500revs .The same when hot turn to start revs 1500 drops to 800 and sits

Oh ok dipsy, sounds like changing the ICSV is a good choice to begin with.
Not quite sure if the valve is supposed to cycle with the ignition, but it seems like a resonable assumption.

OUCH Thats bloody steep for a solenoid, just bought an uprated clutch for not much more than that!
Have u tried somewhere other than a regular delaler for a price?
I would reccomend API Impreza or Grade A Subaru.
