Arghhhhh - Something else - A noise & advice!!!
My scooby which i have only had about 6weeks is now making a noise (as well as hesitant, overfiled with oil etc!!!!). The noise has just strated about a week ago - I had left it at work all day and it was a warm day - When I started it, it had a sound which I can only describe as tikety, tickety etc...
That was the day that subaru dropped and replaced my oil to the correct level - Overfilled to the twist - they estimated 2.5litres too much (The noise started Before they had done it). Next morning fine - No noise, after work no noise and basically it has started to do it more and more from start up - Only when cold. Seems to dissapear once warmed.
Any ideas?
Also what would you do:
Bought it 6 weeks ago from a subaru specialist (Apparently) - Advertised as 1 owner but there was only a small section of logbook with it due to private plate change - When saw logbook it had had two owners (One of the main reasons I bought it). Also advertised with FSSH but the last one was 4 months over due.
Was told it would be serviced, cambelts to be done and have pre delivery inspection before getting it. No reciepts for service as it was internal but he stamped the book (i.e. legally saying he had done it in accordance to manufacturers recomendations) - Then I called him to ask if the oil had been done and had not. After much arguing he serviced it to the 60K miles service (i.e major one). Stamped the book but again would not provide a reciept as it was internal - Also changed a tensioner for air con which seized and caused the air con belt to snap. I know the air filter was replaced and the fuel filter as I marked the fuel one with undercoat - the air filter is obvious. He also copper greased all brake pads so it looks like he had taken them off.
Now it has this noise and is hesitating as previous threads. I have become worried about it maybe being piston slap!!!!
What would you do - I know you can get your money back in certain situations but I have had it a while now. Will post in general section too.
He is a T**T too btw.
