hi i fitted a k&n cone air filter to my98 uk turbo and it wont idle propley when im still at traffic lights.e.t.c. so i put the original box and filter back on but its still the same. im guessing the maf/air flow sensor is knacked. also if i buy a secound hand airflow meter do the numbers on it have to match exactly.does it have to be from the same year car?would only buy one from a classic up to 2000 . any help please. p.s. any one got one for sale

 

Check all the wires - you have probably moved a few in the change-over.

Wiggle them, break and remake all of the connectors (with ignition OFF)

I did this on my sisters car and it wouldn't tick over but it turned out to a breather that I'd pulled out by accident I was cacking it 'til I found that out after putting the standard airbox back on
