ECU swap MY95 Wagon to Series McRae ?
I have a MY95 wagon and have been offered the ECU from a UK Series McRae to buy/try. As far as I can tell despite the Series McRae being Prodrive fettled they didnt alter the performance therefore it would be pointless swapping to this ECU.
How can I tell that the ECU I have is what I am told to believe it is - are there any markings ? I only have the board without the casing. I know that it has the spare slot for an aftermarket chip that mine presumably does not so it will be usefull in the future for chipping.
I know I could just put it in and try it out to see if it is any better biut thought I would ask you guys first. Also what should I pay for it if it is worth buying ?

The series McRae ECU runs the same boost as a UK saloon or Wagon. Unless it has been treated to the Prodrive upgrade. This was introduced in 1996 and increased boost to 13.64psi from 11.47psi.
Open the McRae ECU up and see if it has a 28 pin chip fitted via a socket in one corner, and the brown J1 resistor is cut or missing.
If it's a genuine Prodrive upgrade I think the ECU should have a Prodrive sticker on it.

Might as well not bother then as it will make didly squat extra power by swapping it over.
