I got a patent oil filter for my classic from my local motor factors and its smaller than the current 1 on the car. The factors double checked with the manufacture and they came back with the change as the reason the new 1's are smaller.

I don't do that many miles, its taken me some time to clock up 7500 miles. Least I'm put at my ease.
